Perfect paired with meats such as turkey, lamb or duck, or match with salad course of beetroot, fennel and feta.

Vineyards and Winemaking

The Taylor Pass Pinot Noir fruit is planted on a mixture of soils. Stony soil that contributes fresh floral and red cherry fruit aromas, whereas silty loam soil provides earthy dense tannins and dark berry fruit flavours. The various clones and differing soil types are harvested separately to provide winemakers with as many flavour and texture options to choose from for this single vineyard wine.

Soils And Viticulture

Fruit set in the cool spring weather was lower than usual, resulting in the development of open bunches with small flavourful berries. From January onwards, Marlborough experienced a summer of the century, with a spell of long hot dry weather with moderately cool nights providing the perfect environment to ensure physiological and flavour ripeness whilst retaining freshness.

This is gratifying and compelling, showing dark cherry, sweet plum, game, truffle and cedar characters on the nose, followed by a concentrated palate that's velvety and expansive. Brilliantly structured too, the wine offers richness as well as refinement and exquisite style. At its best: now to 2033. 97 Points
